AUSPICIOUS DAYS FOR PROPERTY BUYING

Auspicious Days for Property Buying

One can sense the excitement in the air with the festive season just around the corner. Among other things, these festivities bring in the joy of purchasing new things. Dussehra, Dhanteras & Diwali day are considered as three of the most auspicious days in the second half of the Hindu calendar to purchase precious stones, jewellery and property. It has been traditionally believed that any major purchase on these days will prosper many folds.

What makes Dussehra, Dhanteras & Diwali so special?

Dussehra or Vijayadashmi is celebrated with great enthusiasm as it symbolizes new beginnings. Whereas the festival of Diwali begins with Dhanteras, a day on which most business communities in India begin their financial year. The word ‘Dhan’ means wealth and the word ‘Teras’ means the 13th day according to the Hindu calendar. A new property is one of the biggest purchases one makes in a lifetime and owning a property is a form of wealth too. Hence, these are considered to be the most important out of the several muhuraths during the year. As a result, Dussehra & Diwali are one of the luckiest days people look forward to invest or own newer wealth.

Diwali is not only the start of the New Year but also the day when Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth is worshiped. This day is considered the perfect occasion to take big decisions and purchase new property.

While any of these auspicious days is a good time to purchase a property, it is certainly not reason enough to seal the deal. Many real estate builders may roll out offers like discounts, freebies and other add-ons to attract potential home buyers. However, it is advisable to undertake in-depth research before taking up such offers.

While investing in a property during auspicious days always remember: -

Decide on your budget well in advance. This will also help in taking appropriate decisions related to buying property.
Self-assessment is the need of the hour before purchasing a property. Analyze to be assured of potential benefit from the property.
Approach at least three different banks for offers on home loans.
Find out important details of the ‘locality’ of the property you are investing in, like accessibility of transport facilities, hospitals, schools and other social infrastructure.
Do a thorough research and background checks while picking a builder

The focal point, while purchasing any property, is to be well informed regardless of the time of the year. Being well prepared and sensible will make the festive purchase prosperous.
